Hideaway Barn, Wells-next-the-Sea (sleeps 6)

WIFI availableHideaway Barn is one of our most popular holiday cottages; a contemporary barn conversion, situated in the conservation area of Wells-next-the-Sea. Hideaway Barn is just a stone’s throw from the Quay and Staithe Street with everything Wells has to offer on its doorstep.

Ground Floor

There is a spacious L-shaped, open plan living, dining and kitchen area, with wooden flooring, gas central heating and double doors leading out to the sunny garden. Relax on the twin leather sofas or matching armchair. There’s plenty to entertain with LCD TV with Freeview, I-pod dock, CD and DVD player, superfast broadband, books, games and DVDs.

The adjoining kitchen area, with exposed flint panel, is fully integrated and well equipped with white units and solid wood worktops. There is an electric Smeg oven, gas hob, dishwasher, 1.5 sink, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine. From the kitchen area there is a step up to the dining area with antique pine table and seating for six.

Off the sitting room is the bunk bedroom with wall mounted hanging rail, chest of drawers, chair and bedside light. There is an en suite shower room with tiled floor, shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC.

First Floor

Stairs from the sitting room lead to the first floor landing. The bright and sunny master bedroom has a king size bed, single wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables with lamps, radio and a bedroom chair. The separate twin bedded room has a fitted wardrobe, bedside table and lamp.

There is also a family bathroom with tiled floor, heated towel rail, a deep, rolltop bath, basin and WC.

The gravelled and part-decked garden is fully enclosed by hand-woven willow fencing. There are trees to provide privacy and pretty seaside planting. With a garden table and chairs, the garden provides a lovely outdoor space for eating al fresco or enjoying a glass of wine.

The barn has private parking for two cars.

Please note: Hideaway Barn can be booked with Hideaway House (sleeps 8) which is next door but one. This is perfect for larger groups, or where one group has a pet.

Wells-next-the-Sea is a charming, traditional seaside town on the North Norfolk coast. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty, with beautiful sandy beaches framed by pine trees.

Wells quay

A visit to Wells wouldn’t be complete without a spot of crabbing on the quayside. Or just watch the world go by whilst sampling the best of fish and chips. There are great local pubs and places to eat including The Crown Inn and The Globe Inn.

Wells has a beautiful sandy beach, backed by pine trees, sand dunes and colourful beach huts. The beach can be reached by using the miniature steam train from the harbour. Or enjoy the walk along the Quay with its active fishing fleet and sailing club. There is also a beach car park and café.

Hideaway Barn is located just off the quayside in Wells-next-the-Sea. A short stroll from the Barn is Staithe Street where you will still find traditional butchers and bakers along with trendy boutiques, galleries, cafes and gift shops.

This is a return visit for us and we have had a wonderful week. Hideaway Barn is perfect for location and comfort and Wells seems to get better for us, each time we visit. We love the shops and the dogs love the beach. October 2018

Hideaway Barn is so comfortable & in an ideal position within Wells. It couldn’t be more convenient! We have been blessed with beautiful weather and, as usual, Wells has worked it’s charm & magic! Beach walks and ‘town’ mooching recommended…. April 2018

Another wonderful stay at Hideaway Barn. Location could not be better for us. We’ve sampled all the local pubs that are dog friendly and spent our days walking the stunning beach and Norfolk Coastal Path. We will be back! April 2018

Our first stay in Hideaway Barn – from the first moment we walked in the property it was warm and cosy. Everything we needed is here and the cottage was well equipped and clean. The parking places are great as we had 2 cars, we will be back to this cottage for sure. We’ve had a fantastic week, loved the beach café and to walk there, sad to be leaving. Thanks to all concerned, what a wonderful barn. March 2018
