Netherfield, Sharrington (sleeps 6)

Netherfield is a charming, contemporary holiday cottage that sleeps 6. It’s located in the quiet village of Sharrington, North Norfolk.  The cottage is just three miles from Holt and a short distance from the coast at Blakeney, Morston and Cley.

The Accommodation

Ground floor

The handy entrance porch has plenty of space for coats and boots. The spacious, bright and modern sitting room has oak flooring, exposed beams, views over the garden and an open fire. There’s comfortable sofa and an easy chair, perfect for relaxing. You’ll find a chest of drawers with maps, games and DVDs, a coffee table and a rocking chair. For entertainment, there’s an LED TV with SKY, wi-fi, DVD Player and i-pod docking station

Off the sitting room is the well-equipped, stylish kitchen with tiled floor, gloss units with wood worktops, brushed steel  electric oven and ceramic hob, built under stainless steel electric cooker, fridge and separate freezer. There’s all the mod cons you’d expect including an AEG dishwasher, microwave, Bosch Tassimo coffee machine, toaster and kettle.

There’s an entrance door from the kitchen to the rear lobby and door to rear  garden. The fully-equipped laundry cupboard has a washer/dryer, clothes airer, iron and ironing board.

The downstairs shower room has a fully tiled floor, walk in shower, sink with storage, WC and heated towel rail.

From the sitting room is the separate dining room with a modern Moroccan theme. There’s oak flooring, an oak dining table seating for 6, an easy chair, a large mirror and Moroccan style lighting.

The downstairs bedroom, bright and sunny with king size bed, wardrobe, 2 drawer chest, bedside tables and lamps, views to the front and side.

First floor

Off the sitting room a door leads to the traditional, steep “Norfolk Winder” stairs to the first floor. There’s a spacious landing with views over the garden. Off the landing you’ll find the master bedroom with king size bed, wardrobe with storage underneath, full length mirror, LED TV, bedside tables and lamps, chest of drawers, views over the rear garden.

The pretty twin bedroom has a chest, fitted wardrobe, bedside cabinets and lamps.

The family bathroom has a bath, sink, WC, radiator and linen cupboard.


The cottage is set back from the lane with a private, gravelled area and parking for 2/3 cars. The large rear garden is sheltered and private, laid mostly to lawn with trees and shrubs. Relax outside, with a table and seating for 6, garden umbrella and BBQ.  There is also a Bistro table and chairs to the front of the cottage.


Sharrington, near Holt

Sharrington is a pretty, quiet, rural North Norfolk village on the edge of the Glaven Valley. It’s just three miles west of the pretty Georgian town of Holt, which offers excellent shopping and is home to the annual Holt Festival. The cottage is a short distance from the coast at Cley, Blakeney and Morston. The quiet country lanes surrounding the village are perfect for cycling, bird watching or walking.

The village has a church, All Saints, part of which dates to the 13th century. Sharrington is also home to Sharrington Strawberries, which sells strawberries, asparagus and fresh produce during the season. Nearby are several good pubs and restaurants including the recently re-opened Blue Bell at Langham, serving food and an award winning farm shop and Café “Back to The Garden
